So why is it celebrated on 14 March?

Pi Day is observed on 14 March, as 3/14 in the month/day format (3,1,4) is the first three significant digits of π.

An important day for Science too

As well as being Pi Day, it’s also the birthday of famed physicist Albert Einstein and marks the one-year anniversary of the death of Stephen Hawking.
